The Model Connection, Inc. will host the first annual Maryland's Phenomenal Woman Pageant
this September. Acclaimed poet and author Maya Angelu is praised highly for her poem entitled Phenomenal Woman. We at The Model Connection, Inc. agree with Ms. Angelou that all women are phenomenal. It is our goal to help promote women as individuals and provide a pageant experience that is rewarding in all aspects such as networking, fellowship, personal enrichment, career enhancement and overall inspiration.

The Maryland's Phenomenal Woman Pageant
invites all women ages 18+, single, divorced or married. You must be a US Citizen and be of good morale character. To be considered for this pageant you must fill out an application (photo optional) and complete an essay on what makes you a Phenomenal Woman. Once your application is selected you are responsible for a $300.00 sponsorship fee. You are encouraged to ask area businesses, family and or friends for sponsor support. A portion of all proceeds from this pageant will go to the National Kidney Foundation. You will also be required to attend a pre-pageant orientation as well as a rehearsal. Pageant date is September 28, 2003.

All contestants will be judged on a pageant morning interview. Then on the evening of the pageant, a new set of celebrity judges will judge contestants in an evening gown and 60 second introduction. This will be on stage in front of an audience during the live pageant event. Only the top seven contestants will have an on-stage question to answer.

Winner will receive pageant sash, trophy, $1000.00 cash as well as numerous other prizes! There will also be prizes for the first runner up through fourth runner up! All pageant contestants will receive courtesy beauty gifts and are invited to a pre-pageant luncheon. The pageant judging will concentrate on the individuality of each contestant. In other words, what makes you "A Phenomenal Woman."
